Buy Andres Romero on the European Order of Merit winner Market at 3 with Sporting Index BetHiLo for 4 Pts.
This is a long term bet that has been placed on this page as the first counting event for this market is tomorrow, the HSBC Champions event. Romero will play this event and stay on to compete in Hong Kong next week which gives us two opportunities for the bet to get off to a good start.
Romero finished 2007 in 7th place on the Order of Merit amassing over 1.7 Million Euros in the process and has now risen to 26th place in the World Rankings. This gets him into all the high value qualifying events for this market that are not normal European events, namely the 3 US majors and the 3 WGC events, which still though count towards the Merit title. There is the worry of course that he may try to play more in the States which would have an adverse effect on this bet but I can find no information on any sites, including his own personal site that suggests this will happen. Even if he does it does not mean that he can't win the OOM as Rose managed it this year with limited visits to Europe.
It is becoming increasingly important to play well in these 6 events and in The Open to contend in this market as the sums available are so vast and it would be fair to say that Romero is good enough to contend with the best the world has to offer. With the chances in those 7 added to at least 15 other events in Europe were he to play a similar schedule to 2007, he would have a good chance of improving on the 7th place finish last week where he was only 250,000 Euro's short of placing 4th
Note: The points scoring is 50 to the winner, 30 2nd, 20 3rd and 10 4th and I am fairly hopeful we can get a run for our money throughout the season ahead.

Bet 1 - Sell Daniel Vancsik over Sang-Moon Bae 18H R1 MB at -1.5 with IG Sport M/U 16, Loss 5.25 Pts
Vancsik has been in good form in Europe over the last couple of months with two consecutive 3rd places in Spain and Portugal. He followed this up with a 3rd place in an event at home in Argentina. His opponent, Sang Moon, has similar good form but crucially, that form is in this region. He placed 6th in Korea in October and followed up with a Top 25 showing in a good field in Singapore. His form on this tour this year also shows a win in May, also in Korea. Vancsik has played 9 events in this region in the last 3 years. He has missed 3 cuts and his best showing in the other 6 events is 19th. |
