Summary: Bets: 4, Wins: 2, Losses 2, Profit 0.75 Pts Bet 1 - Buy Adam Scott over Shiv Kapur 72H MB at 4.75 with Sporting Index / Bet HiLo for 0.6 Pts M/U 6, Profit 0.75 Pts A high price to pay for Scott but looking at the prices available on the 10 or so opponents he could face in Sporting's "Matchmakers" option, this seems the best value of all. Kapur has form in Asia of 3 Top 10's in 16 starts since early 2006 and has also missed 3 cuts in that time. Scott has played three times on this tour in two years and has won all 3 events. Realistically we should be paying around 6.5 to 7 to play this bet. Bet 2 - Sell Phillip Price over Andrew Tampion 18H MB at 1 with IG Sport for 0.3 Pts. M/U 16, Loss 4.5 Pts Two weeks ago Tampion finished 2nd in the Indonesian open which is fair form coming into this event. Price has a 3rd place on this tour in 04' but his general form has dipped somewhat from the player famous for beating Mickelson in the Ryder Cup in 2002. Three top 10's since mid 2004 is poor and although Tampion has done little of note he seems under valued in this price where "choice" may be a fairer opinion. Bet 3 - Sell Alvaro Quiros over Terry Pilkadaris 18H MB at 0 with IG Sport for 0.3 Pts. M/U -31, Profit 9.3 Pts 6 missed cuts on this tour in 37 starts in two seasons with eight Top 10's including one win for the Australian. This local knowledge should make him a clear favourite on this tour against Quiros who may have greater potential but makes his Asian tour (and therefore his Asian grainy greens) debut and who has done little this year in three starts with a best placed 34th in Qatar. Bet 4 - Sell James Nitties over Jean Van de Velde 18H MB at 0 with IG Sport for 0.3 Pts. M/U 16, Loss 4.8 Pts A steady record for Van de Velde in Asia with 8 consecutive cuts made and a Top 10 in his last start, in Hong Kong, last November. Nitties has visited this tour once, finishing 48th in China two years ago and we should back tour form again by taking the Frenchman to beat the Australian. |
