Summary: Bets: 6, Wins: 5, Losses 1, Profit 25.74 Pts Bet 1 - Sell Jose-Filipe Lima over Jean-Francois Lucquin 18H MB at -1.5 with IG Sport for 0.3 Pts M/U -16, Profit 4.35 Pts Head to head's on this tour alone and generally in Europe are fairly equal but current form sees Lucquin have a 5th, a 31st and a missed cut in the Gulf Swing events whereas Lima missed two cuts shooting 82/79 in Dubai only a week ago. With scores as high as that it may be worth taking Lucquin in this "choice" bet when he is probably deserving of favouritism. Bet 2 - Sell Thongchai Jaidee over Lee Westwood 72H MB at 1.25 with Sporting Index / Bet HiLo (Matchmakers) for 0.6 Pts M/U -8, Profit 5.55 Pts Jaidee is this weeks most popular player with pundits and punters alike but in match bets he may be worth opposing with Westwood who has fair form in this part of the world. In the last four events they have both played in Asia, Westwood has prevailed in all 4, winning by 8, 1, 4 and 20 in their 72H matches. Obviously, Jaidee has almost perfect form on this course over the last couple of years but that is more than reflected in the price. Westwood though, has won here, albeit 10 years ago now, but is fair value with more than a stroke start. Bet 3 - Sell Prom Meesawat over Soren Hansen 18H MB at 3 with Sporting Index / Bet HiLo for 0.3 Pts M/U 19, Loss 4.8 Pts Bet 4 - Sell Jyoti Randhawa over Soren Hansen 18H MB at 6 with Sporting Index / Bet HiLo for 0.3 Pts M/U -16, Profit 6.6 Pts In both cases this price just seems to over reflect the fact this is being played in Asia between tour locals against a European player. Both Asian tour players have superior form and better H2H's in this region against Hansen but he does have a 5th here in 2001, and 7 Top 20's on this tour in his last 25 starts. Bet 5 - Sell Andres Romero over Frankie Minoza 18H MB at 1 with IG Sport for 0.3 Pts M/U -13, Profit 4.2 Pts There is no doubt Romero is a far better player than Minoza but their respective form in Asia means we should take Minoza with a 1pt start. In two starts in Asia, Romero is yet to see the weekend whereas Minoza won last week in the Philippines and was 2nd in his previous start in the Volvo Masters the week before Christmas. Minoza has six Top 5's on this tour in the last 2 years and should be favourite in this region when paired with Romero. Pre R2 Bet 6 - Sell Thongchai Jaidee over Jeev Milkha Singh 72H MB at 2.4 with IG Sport for 0.6 Pts M/U -14, Profit 9.84 Pts A double play against Jaidee on the 72H MB's now as his price against Singh seems a bit high with 3 rounds to go. Today, both players shot 71, and with Singh getting an early tee time tomorrow he may be worth playing at this stage. The course averages were 0.6 strokes better for those that played in the morning today so that advantage plus the fact Jaidee would have to beat his opponent by an average of a stoke per round from here on in means we should trade at 2.4 of a start.
