I'm surprised that Singh isn't shorter odds in this matchup, particularly as Stan James make him only 8/1 to win the event. He is clearly motivated by the staging of a European Tour event in India and the particularly grainy greens at DLF should help the home player who has recorded top-15 finishes in each of his three Tour starts here (Clarke is making his course debut). There is the argument that his focus may be elsewhere this week after the birth of his son two weeks ago (particularly given the tragic circumstances of 2008), but he played in the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship three weeks ago and finished ahead of Clarke and he returned for the Dubai event last week and again finished ahead of Clarke. I see no compelling reason why he shouldn't do the same again this week.

Clarke secured a narrow win over Singh in the first round despite ranking outside the top-50 in both driving distance and driving accuracy and outside the top-100 (in just a 126-man field) in greens in regulation. A red hot putter saved him in the first round, surely it won't do the same in the second. Lowry played well from tee-to-green today and this price does not reflect how these two played in round one.

Andrew Dodt to beat Yih-Shin Chan -110 @ Stan James  WON by 5
Chan may have been a wire-to-wire winner on the Asian PGA Tour in December, but this should be completely different: if he holds on for the victory tomorrow, he will earn full playing rights on the European Tour for almost three years. Dodt, one shot behind the leaders, will not face the same pressure and, besides, he has showed that he came play well in much higher company having finished 2nd and 7th on the Australasian Tour in the last two weeks in events co-sanctioned by the Nationwide Tour.
