With current leaders Nirat and Liang looking for their first European win in six years, it makes perfect sense to be looking elsewhere for the likely winner. Unfortunately most of the current top-ten are known to have a look when hitting the front and it is hard to be confident about any of them, and certainly not at the prices offered.

The course originally looked to be a bombers paradise but as David Drydesdale has noted, accuracy is also relevent as the fairways are not as wide as first thought. That being the case, experience and temperamant will also count for much as the greens are comparitively small and patience will be required.

First on the tee at halfway is local superstar Jeev Milkha Singh, an honourary member of the Indian PGA and a fervent supporter of local golf in his home nation. Four time winner on the main European Tour in far better class including the 2012 Scottish Open, he also has multiple wins on the Asian and Japan circuit, and if anywhere close on Saturday night has to be the one to beat.

Surprisingly, Jeev hasn't a major win record in his home country but a couple of top-twelve finishes in four events is still better than most of this lot. With that unusual swing, Jeev can look ungainly but he can get the job done and whilst he has missed 13 greens this week thus far, his scrambling has been excellent. Reknown for making a move over the weekend and unafraid to go low, he rates a first class bet at the current 28-1 with only a handful of shots to make up on the leaders and a banker at 13-8 in the top-ten market.

Also strongly fancied to make a move over the next few days is a player on the opposite side of the age spectrum. Another Indian star, Gaganjeet Bhullar will be looking to make local knowledge tell having won round Jaypee Greens as an amateur. Multiple winner on the Indian Tour in 2011, he played consistently well again in 2012 backing that up with two wins on the Asian Tour and has spoken very confidently all season about making the breakthrough to the main European Tour.

Unquestionably one of the rising stars of the East, the 24-year-old, has been under the weather in recent events but still recorded decent finishes. He did let favourite backers down on the Challenge Tour in February but that 8th place finish showed that he could perform even under considerable pressure, and whilst the mid-20s result last week at the SAIL was dissapointing he has already made his valid reasons and that is best left behind.

Normally supremely accurate off the tee, he currently leads that stat this week and with his driving recording over 300 yards, it just needs a few putts to drop for him to make a mockery of his halfway price. Another who will have more behind him than in front on Sunday, he is huge at 40-1 (33-1 very acceptable), and the top-10 price is also woth a confident punt.

Lastly, I can't let Mithun Perera go without having something on him. Lacking the overall experience and length of Bhullar, he is a very promising player that has 'hidden' form round this course but also has recent top-five finishes on the Indian Tour. Another who speaks very confidently about his game that relies on his accuracy, he is probably too short off the tee to challenge strongly this week, but his potential class leads me to think he is overpriced at 25-1 for a top-10 finish. We have already seen in co-sanctioned events that local knowledge counts for much as the event comes to conclusion and it is no coincidence that the final leaderboards in South Africa and Australia are loaded with home players. No tears at the price.
