Both sides of the age spectrum to take into the final round in Hong Kong. The leaderboard looks almost impossible to fathom with a number of known 'stoppers' up there, and even leader Marcus Fraser, with his brilliant return from injury, has never been totally reliable in front. Instead look behind firstly with the Frenchman, slightly unreliable with his putting when in contention, but nicely enough placed to work his way up with his regular tee-to-green consistency and wo may well trade much shorter in running before realising he is in front. Back him on Betfair, looking to ensure profit at 6 (5-1) and again if he works his way clear. The younger Phelan should be on everybody's list as a future star. An excellent amateur who made the cut at Merrion, he hasn't done much since being in contention at the Tshwane and it is no cincidence that he has returned to form on a lesser co-sanctioned event, and not far away from those South African events at which so many youngsters make their name. He is a poke in the dark as we have no idae how he will react if he charges early but at treble-figures against a weakish top-10, he is worth the poke. At this moment, he is only 65 on Betfair hence the fixed-odds play but should he drift to 100 or bigger, make him a consideration for a trade. |
