Kruger had been on a terrible run of form on the European Tour until he bounced back with an excellent 11th place finish at the KLM Open last week, despite starting with a 73. He played twice in this event a few years ago and put in respectable performances on both occasions. He has improved as a player since then and a reproduction of last week's form would have to see him go very close in this company.
