These queries search
databases that contain
results and stats for
over 10,000 events and
over 4 million rounds of
Tour golf since 1996.
There is the opportunity
to combine database
queries so that
performances across two
different events,
courses or locations can
be compared. Wildcard
and Boolean operators
can also be used in
these queries. The
ability to copy and
paste the database
results or download the
results as a csv file is
available only to those
with a Full
subscription. Details of
each database query is given
below.
Basic
This
query reports
finishing position and scores according to the
selections for event, course, location, tour
and/or players.
Head-to-Head
This
query reports the
performance of two players when they have competed
in the same event. The 'winner' is identied for
each event and there is an overall win-loss record
score reported across all events and across each
round. To help with the selection of active
players, you can choose the Tour from a drop-down
list and that will display the list of players
competing in that Tour's latest event. Selecting
two players' names will produce their head-to-head
database query result.
Strokes Gained
Strokes gained data is currently only
collected by the PGA, DP World and LPGA Tours.
Whereas the Basic query results players' finishing
position and scores, this query reports players'
finishing position and each of the six strokes
gained categories: off-the-tee,
approach-the-green, around-the-green,
tee-to-green, putting, and total.
Position by
Round
In addition to the data displayed via the
Basic query, this query also reports players'
position at the end of each round.
Course Setup
As well as reporting player scores, this
query also reports the course par, course yardage,
course architects and types of grasses on the
greens. These four course features are searchable
as well as the other elements within the Basic
query.

Top Players
This query reports the top-performing
players according the user-specified filters for
event, course or location. The data reported for
each player features: best finish, win, top-5 and
top-10 percentage and average score. There is also
a link to the Basic query results for each player
using the user-specificied filters.
Shots off the
Lead
In addition to the data displayed via the
Basic query, this query also reports players'
strokes behind the leader at the end of each round.
A negative value indicates the lead that the
player has over the rest of the field.
Player Stats
This query reports the finishing position
for each player as well as their values and ranks
for the following stats: driving distance, driving
accuracy, greens in regulation, scrambling,
putting average, putts per round. The query also
reports the following compsite indices for each
player: total driving, total accuracy, ball
striking, total putting, and all-around.
Weather
As well as reporting player scores, this
query also reports the daily average temperature,
wind speed and weather conditions for each round.
These three weather features are searchable as
well as the other elements within the Basic query.
This query also reports each player's position at
the end of the previous round and at the end of
the current round so the impact of weather on
performance per player can be identified.
Sunday
Supplement
This query looks at how players perform
when within five shots of the leader at the start
of the 4th round. As well as reporting their
finishing position, this query reports each
player's 4th round score and the average 4th round
score of all players within five shots of the lead
at the start of the round. It also show their
position at the end of the 3rd and 4th rounds, so
the impact of being in 4th round contentionon
performance per player can be identified.
Consecutive
Weeks
In addition to the data displayed via the
Basic query, this query also reports how many
weeks of consective Tour events or consecutive
weeks without a Tour event that the player had
before each event. These are searchable, so the
impact of extended layoffs or prologed periods of
Tour golf on performance per player can be
identified.
In/Out
Contention
This query looks at how players perform
when within user-defined shots off the lead or in
user-defined positions on the leaderboard. This
can be used to search how players have performed
in the first round, or when in the lead, or to
identify which events they have won, for example.
Playing
Partners
This
query reports the
performance of two players when they have been in
the same tee-time group. The 'winner' is identied for
each occasion that they have played together and there is an overall win-loss record
score reported across all rounds and across each
round. To help with the selection of active
players, you can choose the Tour from a drop-down
list and that will display the list of players
competing in that Tour's latest event. Selecting
two players' names will produce their head-to-head
database query result.
Three-Way Head-to-Head
This
query is the same as
the Head-to-Head query, but the user can identify
three players in this head-to-head query. This can
be relevant for searching the performance of
players in three-ball matchups.
Scoring Stats
This query reports the finishing position
and scores for each player as well as their score
on par-3, par-4 and par-5 holes. The query also
reports the total number of eagles, birdies, pars,
bogeys and other scores that each player recorded.
Adjusted Scores
In addition to the data displayed via the
Basic query, this query also reports each player's
adjusted score for each round and the average
adjusted score for the event. The adjusted score
metric takes into account course and weather
difficulty as well as field quality. More details
