Sebastian Garcia Rodriguez - 0.50 points each-way @ 150-1 (Bet365)
After Julien Brun became the sixth amateur to win on the Challenge Tour, very few players will be afraid of challenging in any event soon. He wasn't the only success story of the week however, with Rodriguez gaining his second top ten of the season top alongside far more experienced players Tullo, Kieffer and Euro Tour workhorse Richard Bland.
The young Spaniard has taken his time to find the form of a a few years ago when winning the National title as well as performing in top team competitions but the spur of last week's effort plus a return to Spain may enable him to kick on. His form this year has been sporadic but he was a closing 9th in the Canary Islands in March after failing to handle being in the final group on the Saturday. That 66 after a 74 shows a willingness to keep trying as well as obvious talent and in a field that is constantly looking over their shoulders as it gets closer to the 'big twenty', he is far too big a price to improve past players that have little or none left in them. |
