Great, another new course on a Tour without regular play! We weren't too shy with a 250-1 poke last time out and here, in Belgium, it would seem as though a liking of tree-lined courses favouring accuracy, is the way to go. Whilst the likes of John Parry could be different gear he represents no value so our five against the field are
MARK TULLO - 0.50 POINTS EACH-WAY @ 50-1 (SKYBET) Whilst form is temporary, class is permanent, and it should not be forgotten that Tullo beat both Mannessaro and McIlroy in decent events in 2010, both times coming from off the pace. His form since then has not been the same, but he played well in the Scottish Open last season and whilst only making the cut twice in his last five events (mixed Tours), they show Top-15 finishes. Crucially he has twice played on Tour in Belgium, both times finishing fourth.
CHRIS DOAK - 0.50 POINTS EACH-WAY @ 50-1 (SKYBET) In great form, Doak currently lies in the Top-20 in the CT rankings and, having just missed out on a Euro card last year, will be hoping to continue a run that has seen him run-up in Kenya and finish 16th last week in Madeira. Both are tricky courses so he won't mind if the trees call on complete concentration and, once again, he has form in Belgium, having finished top-20 in this event last year.
CHRISTOPHE BRAZILLIER - 0.25 POINTS EACH-WAY @ 80-1 (SKYBET) One out the blue here with the Frenchman. Has at least made the cut in the first three events of the season, whilst his second-round 81 did for him last week. Generally finishes around 50-70th in the rankings but this may be the week for an improved showing, having recorded two Top-10s in his last four starts in Belgium.
ANDREW TAMPION - 0.25 POINTS EACH-WAY @ 80-1 (SKYBET) A tale of two halves (Brian?). Tampion's recent form isn't great but overall, his career play deserves more respect than the current odds. Although missing the cut last week, 76/72 isn't horrendous and it is interesting that he won this event last year after a missed-cut in the same event. Finishes of 6th and 1st in this country suggests he likes it here and whilst defending will be tough, the infamous 'pma' (positive mental attitude) will be a huge asset in this class. MORTEN ORUM MADSEN - 0.50 POINTS EACH-WAY @ 33-1 (SKYBET) Close between Paisley and Madsen for the final pick, but that run of form 2/26/11 finishing with a 66 in Madeira, swings the vote, even at a skinny price. Young enough to keep finding improvement, his lack of form here is negated by his positive memory of this course when finishinmg top-5 in a Junior event here. Is looking forward to playing this week and continuing a run that should yield him that vital win very soon.
