With a very competitive field (Smyth, Mason, Ebihara, Torrance, Carbonetti and Darcy all featuring) and no previous course form available it's probably best to keep stakes to a minimum and look for some value.
Eamonn Darcy to win 14/1 e.w. 1 pt @ Skybet Since concentrating on the European Senior Tour in September 2004, Darcy's record is 5 top 10's out of 7 and never out of the top 15. He's probably in the top 3 in terms of overall and current form on the Tour at the moment and yet because of the more competitive field, where question marks can be raised about a number of the market leaders, he is available at 14's. With a success rate for finishing in the top 5 at 33% there's a bit of value here.
Bruce Heuchan to win 40/1 e.w. 0.5pt @ Skybet The Canadian was consistent last season without showing anything to suggest he could win an event of this class. However he has been a bit of a revelation in his second year on the tour. A record of 8-18-8-8 certainly deserves a mention and based on that form he has jumped from 31st to 14th on the order of merit. But the most impressive element of this years form is that in every round this year he has either maintained or improved his tournament position. If he can get in a decent round 1 score then he could a bit of a dark horse.
Gavan Levenson to win 33/1 e.w. 0.5pt @ Skybet Another second seasoner who has shown a marked improvement over last years form. In January he finished 40th in the South African Open (tied with Trevor Immelman) and shown impressive form in his last two tour starts, never being out of the top 5 at any stage. If he manages to continue on this run of form then the 33/1 is a tempting proposition.
