Mason is priced up for this event at 5/2 and this seems to be a fair price considering his overall and current form. However, he is hardly value and there are a couple of plays where the price is too large to ignore.
Bruce Heuchan to win 66/1 e.w. 0.5pt @ Skybet
The price seems slightly on the large side considedring what he has achieved this year. Only a couple of weeks ago Heuchan was available at 40/1. Admittedly his form has tailed off over the last couple of weeks but it hardly warrants such a big increase in his price. The Canadian has the ability to make the frame and in this event he will have the added incentive as qualifying for the Senior British Open ends with this tournament. There are three places available for the leading players in the top 30 on the Order of Merit who are not currently exempt and Heuchan is one of them. Heuchan is a guy who generally reacts well to pressure, his last round figures are impressive, and hopefully this added raison d'être can spur him on to a good show at a decent price.
Dragon Taki to win 150/1 e.w. 0.5pt @ Skybet
The Woodbury Park course has been extended to 7,319 yards making it one of the longest courses that the Seniors will encounter on the tour. This could play into the hands of Dragon who has won the JPGA Long Driving Championship on four separate occasions. Not that he needs more help on this course as on his two previous starts he has finished 20th in 2003 and 7th place last year. His current form is hardly inspiring but 150/1 for a player with this course form is hard to ignore.
