Volvo PGA Championship

Outright plays (1.5 units)

Retief Goosen to win 14/1 e.w. @ SkyBet (6 places)
Missed the cut the last two years, but still the 2nd best player on view this week and in good form as well.

Paul Lawrie to win 28/1 e.w. @ Stan James  (30/1 Five Dimes with 1/5 1-2-3-4-5)
Another who hasn't played too well on this course in recent years, but is in excellent form with top-15 finishes in last four big-name events.

Niclas Fasth to win 38/1 e.w. @ Five Dimes
Top-15 in last two years and good form in last two events on return to Europe.

No time for matchup plays this week.

Mid-point update:

Goosen mc
Lawrie mc
Fasth 2nd

Goosen and Lawrie struggled, but otherwise a good event with Fasth looking in very good form. Good return on the 18-hole plays with the only loss courtesy of a 50-yard holed wedge from the rough by Olly on the final round. Can't legislate against that!

3rd round update: 1-0-0; +1.50 units

Els/Clarke WON by 5

4th round update: 1-2-0; -2.16 units

Final update:

18-holes: 4-3-1; +3.57 units

Outrights: 0-3; -4.50 units

Fasth 14th

Disappointing final day with the 18-hole plays and particularly Fasth who played terribly and was lucky not to finish lower than he did. He had started the day in 2nd place and in the final group, but looks a good one to oppose if in that situation again.
