Betfair Picks - European Tour
|
|
BMW International Open @
Betfair
Summary:
Jacobson had a chance but lost it during a poor Sunday back nine.
Loss = 4 pts
Pre-tournament picks:
Back Fredrik Jacobson 3 pts @ 34
Gutsiness is one quality that Jacobson
certainly possesses, and now the chips are down (regarding Ryder Cup
qualification) I think his real ability will show through on a course
that should suit his game. He needs a high finish to secure his place in
Langer's squad and will surely be thinking that he deserves one after
his rise towards becoming a world class golfer in recent times. He has
struggled just a little recently but the reward for that is 33/1 and
when it comes to shooting low there are few better than an on-form
Jacobson; when getting his eye in I don't think there is anyone better
in the world at holing putts.
Back Gregory Havret 1 pt @ 170
Plenty of 150/1 with the bookies and that is perfectly acceptable to
me if the 160 and higher on Betfair disappears. Havret blows hot and
cold but this year he has undoubtedly strengthened the belief that he is
best on easy courses where going low is the priority. It seems all his
good performances have come where attacking play is rewarded and despite
his 4th round failings in recent months, he looks worth a specualtive
punt here. Played fantastically the last time the tour was in Germany
(before the Sunday horror show) and once on a roll is a player that can
out-birdie anyone and everyone. Lets hope he gets going again and we'll
worry about the Sunday pressure if the time comes!
