Open de France
Final result: -12.25pts
Tournament Trades (Andy) (Please note: Andy is on holiday and
will be back for The Open
at Royal Troon)
Sell Colin Montgomerie
FP at 31 with
IG Sport for 0.5 pts.
[MU = 50; Loss = 9.5pts]
With negatives over returning US Open attendees and question marks over
the form, whether course
or current of some others, this seems too high a price for a player who
has posted a win and three Top 25's
from his last 4 visits. Yes, we are talking the Monty of 2004 being a
different beast from the all conquering
Monty of the 90's but this event is pretty poor in terms of quality.
Sell Bernhard Langer FP at 32 with
Cantor
Sports for 0.5 pts [MU = 50;
Loss = 9pts]
Another oldie but another who didn't get caught up in the US Open
madness and who has posted two 2nd's
here albeit back in the late 90's. Langer has had a recent injury but
prior to that was putting up a good
CV for his 2004 form with high finishes in Miami and Augusta.
Sell Nick O'Hern FP at 30 with
IG Sport for 0.5 pts [MU =
2.5; Profit = 13.75pts]
O'Hern has two top 15's and a MC at this course. Six Top 6's against
only two Missed Cuts in 04' suggests getting
low at 30 is very good value on such a consistent performer.
Sell Barry Lane FP at 35 with
Spreadex for 0.5 pts.
[MU = 50; Loss = 7.5pts]
Final bet on an English player who has a liking for his destination this
week. Fluent in French and owning property
there his results don't quite match his love of the country. However,
easily his best return is on this course where he finished 8th last
year. His win in Britain a few weeks ago has given his career a good
kick and he has posted three results below this mark since from 4.
