Spread Picks - European Tour

Tipsters: Andy & Shaker

Irish Open

Tournament Trades (Andy) (Profit -6.5pts)

Both Donald and Fasth made no real effort on the leaderboard and we were always up against it losing two of the four at the cut. Results in the Milwaukee event though have made it another winning week.

Sell Niclas Fasth FP at 31 with IG Sport for 0.5 pts. MU 23.5
5th in the Scottish Open seen a return to form for Fasth and in a Ryder Cup year he will be trying to step up his efforts in a bid to get back in the team. A really poor year up till now has resulted in him being in the last chance saloon. Tipped up today as an FP sell in a national paper, the reasoning is that with a never say die attitude there is little downside to a sell at 31. Although I am also suggesting a play i think it a little folly to suggest there is little downside in tipping a play at 31 when Fasth has failed to cover that price in the ten events preceding Loch Lomond. However, the 5th to me was a sign that Fasth is showing he is a late summer player after producing 5 Top 25's in the 2nd half of last year.

Sell Luke Donald FP at 31 with Cantor Sports for 0.5 pts. MU 23.5
A change of heart from Donald with regards how much effort he wants to put in to make the Ryder Cup has seen him return to Europe and try and play his way in. Missing the cut at the Open may not be a bad thing for his chances this week and a 7th and 3rd in a couple of his recent PGA Tour events suggest he is in good enough nick to contend here. His last Euro event pre-Troon was in Scandinavia last year when he finished 3rd.

Sell Anders Hansen FP at 36 with Sporting Index for 0.5 pts MC MU 50
It was only a few weeks ago that Hansen was in the low 20's for FP quotes and was due to a run of 7 Top 25's in 8 events. The question is does two missed cuts since mean he should be as high as 36 in an event with nowhere near the depth of quality that those two events had (European Open and The Open).

Sell David Lynn FP at 36 with Spreadex for 0.5 pts. WD MU 50
A more speculative play here for which the confidence is not as high as the 3 above. Lynn has posted results this year which have an average below what we can get this week. On purely statistical terms, 36 is just too good a price to ignore Lynn this week who was 5th and 10th in two events in June and has been Top 40 in two events since.
