Tournament Trades

Sell David Lynn FP at 39 with Cantor Sports for 0.5 pts (M/U 50, Profit -5.5pts)
Advising this bet as it seems a low risk trade at the price. The loss is known at 5.5pts if he finishes 50th or higher and in three of his last four events he would have M/U lower than this price. 27th and 16th in S Africa then a 25th place in Thailand, Lynn then proceeded to M/C last week in Dubai. This, though does not have the quality of field that last week had. 36 would be a fairly accurate stab at his average FP on this weeks known stats so 39 is a bit too high.

Sell Philip Price FP at 31 with Sporting Index for 0.5pts (M/U 15.5, Profit 7.75pts)
With the field quality as it is, Price is a bit too high at 31 with Sporting Index. No real current form or course form to use as an reasoning but given the quality on show and the known downside, this price should be in the mid 20's.

Round One Trades

Buy Miles Tunnicliff over Jarmo Sandelin 18H MB at 3 with Sporting Index for 0.5 pts (M/U -22, Profit -12.5pts)
On known form and scoring averages, Tunnicliff is possibly a little short here in price. Most recent form sees Sandelin beat him at Dubai, but at 4 previous events this year, Jarmo has finished 65th, MC, MC, MC. This is by no means a stand out price but is worthy of minimum stakes with a buy at 3.

Buy Raphael Jacquelin over Ricardo Gonzalez 18H MB at 5 with Sporting Index for 0.5pts (M/U 16, Profit 5.5pts)
Once again, a price which is a bit too low. Raphael started the year with 3 top 5's in a row and then run out of steam. He WD and MC in Australia, however if you pour over his Australasian record it is very poor anyway. He just doesn't seem to contend in that part of the world. In Dubai last week though he shot a respectable 20th given the strength of the field and will be hoping to improve on that this week. Gonzalez MC in Dubai finishing with an 81 in R2 and his record in Australia though wasn't much better than Raphael's with a 52nd and a MC. A solid bet at the price.

Round Two Trades

Buy Raphael Jacquelin over Ricardo Gonzalez 18H MB at 5 with Spreadex for 0.5pts (M/U 0, Profit -2.5pts)
For all the same reasons as in R1, buy Jacquelin again at the same price.

Round Four Trades

Sell Ricardo Gonzalez over Christian Cevaer 18H MB at 2 with Sporting Index for 0.5pts (M/U 19, Profit -8.5pts)

Three days out of four opposing big Ricardo as the spread firms have just over-rated him a little each of these times. Worth a minimum trade at the price.

Summary:

Below average week with the losses always just turning out to be that bit higher than the wins. Total -18.25pts loss on the week. Disappointing results here with hopefully a better finish in the PGA event.

Qatar Masters

Tournament Trades (after 2nd round)

Buy all these FPs for 0.5 pts:

Brian Davis at 16 with
Spreadex & Sporting Index
Miguel Angel Jimenez at 18 with
Spreadex & Sporting Index
David Howell at 20 with IG Sport
Joakim Haeggman at 20 with
IG Sport
Raphael Jacquelin at 21 with IG Sport

With 64 players on scores ranging from 2 under to the lead at 6 under, there will be much chopping and changing over the weekend. I don't believe their 'names' count for anything here and therefore their prices are based more on their reputation rather than their chances. If the wind gets up absolutely anything can happen, whoever the player is and whatever good form they've been in, and I think it's possible none of these will be in the top ten when all is said and done. A sporting bet with more potential upside than downside, I believe. 84 players have made the cut and two poor performances out of the 5 would probably give us a profit.

M/Ups:
Haeggman 1, Loss = 10 pts
Davis 4, Loss = 6 pts
Jacquelin 4, Loss = 8 pts
Howell 9.5, Loss = 5.25 pts
Jimenez 50, Profit = 16 pts

Summary

A quite remarkable attempt to make some profit. Managed to choose 3 of the final top 5 from a list of over 80. So often the bigger names let you down over the weekend when you support them, yet here there were solid performances a-plenty from them. Final loss 13.25 pts.
