Lane/Lara TIED (Loss)
Just as well Cambo was already trailing Gonzalez, else I would not
have found his 5-10-6 finish that funny ... and it is laughable! Pity
that he didn't give one of those shots to Lara. The loss on the tied
match with Lane meant that it turned from a profitable event into a
loss-making one. Never happy to end a Tour season on that note.
72-hole plays (1pt unless stated):
Michael Campbell to beat Ricardo Gonzalez -110 @
Sportingbet
and
Sporting Odds
Cambo might not be in the best of form at the moment, but he is
returning to a course on which he has finished in the top-10 on his last
two visits and he has finished outside the top-10 only once in the last
five years of this event. He also should finish ahead of Gonzalez given
that he has a 9-3-0 h2h lead over him in 2004.
Luke Donald to beat Lee Westwood -103 @
Pinnacle
Both players in good form, but I'd make Donald the slight favourite in
this match and so will take these odds. He has finished ahead of
Westwood in both their common events this month and Westwood has played
particularly poorly over Valderrama in the last two seasons.
(available generally)
Richard Green to beat Bradley Dredge -114 @
Expekt
With three top-10 finishes in his last six starts and top-15 finishes in
both of his visits to Valderrama, Green may be surprise contender this
week. Even if not, he should still beat Dredge given that he has done so
in 12 of their last 15 common events.

Richard Green to beat Henrik Stenson -110 @
Sportingbet
and
Sporting Odds
[2pts]
A lack of course experience and three missed cuts in his last five
starts count against Stenson this week. He is too erratic to
consistently beat Green and this is shown by his 6-13-0 h2h record
against the Australian this year.
(also available at Nordicbet)
Phillip Price to beat Henrik Stenson -115 @
Pinnacle
With finishes of 5th and 18th in his last two starts, Price has clearly
overcome his late summer slump. Throw in four solid performances on this
course and a 9-1-0 h2h record against Stenson and Price looks a solid
favourite in this match.
Nick O'Hern to beat Raphael Jacquelin -125 @
BlueSq
O'Hern may have difficulty in closing out winning positions, but he
should still beat the much more erratic Jacquelin. O'Hern's consistency
has been the key to the fact that he has finished behind Jacquelin only
four times from twenty common events in 2004.
(also available at Pinnacle)
Barry Lane to beat Jose Manuel Lara -110 @
Stan James
Neither of these players could be called consistent, but Lane gets the
edge because of his extensive course experience whereas Lara has none
and because he has finished ahead of the Spaniard in each of their last
three common events.
