Spread Picks - European Tour

Tipster: Andy

Odds: Spreads

Telecom Italia Open

Finishing Positions (0.5 pt Stakes)

Summary: Profit 21.25 Pts. A better week this week and hopefully we can produce a return in the States as well to soften the blow of last weeks disaster.

Round Three Trades (Summary: We are in a good position now with Webster a 6pt loss max, Cabrera a few places above his buy price and Garbutt, Bourdy and Lucquin just below their's. Gallacher looks a certain 50 M/U and with McDowell already banked our big result today was Havret who had been Top 5 now 35th after a poor R3 77.)

Buy Steve Webster at 13 with IG Sport M/U 1, Loss 6 Pts

Buy Jean Francois Lucquin at 28 with IG Sport M/U 34, Profit 3 Pts

Buy Angel Cabrera at 29 with Spreadex M/U 22.5, Loss 3.25 Pts

Buy Stephen Gallacher at 36 with Spreadex M/U 50, Profit 7 Pts.

Buy Ian Garbutt at 37 with Spreadex M/U 42, Profit 2.5 Pts

Buy Gregory Bourdy at 38.5 (spread free) with Spreadex M/U 50, Profit 5.75 Pts.
6 Buys for the post cut on players who just seem a little low. The only downside is a cut of only 71 players but even allowing for this the prices taken above are value and we can hopefully make some of the losses back from last week. I will look again tomorrow night and see what possibilities there are.

Round Two Summary: Thunderstorms meant that R1 couldn't finish and prices couldn't be offered for R2. We now though have a situation that we have 14.5 pts banked with McDowell's MC, but with Havret in the Top 5 which would cancel out much of what has already been made were he to stay there. Hopefully some value prices appear later and we can get more interest for the weekend than hoping for a collapse from Havret.

Pre Round One Trades

Buy Graeme McDowell at 21 with IG Sport M/U 50, Profit 14.5 Pts.
McDowell has played almost exclusively in the States this year and has fared ok but we will oppose him on this tour even although he is probably the class act in the field and the defending champion. Putting all the possibilities together he should arguably be 22-25 in this field. Therefore, to be able to buy at 21 is value even although he is probably more likely to beat 21st than not were it a fixed odds bet. However, it is not, and with ties on our side the value on a mean bet rather than an unders/overs bet is definitely to go with the buy.

Buy Gregory Havret at 27 with IG Sport M/U 22.5, Loss 2.25 Pts
Havret has put together some excellent results this year but on the two occasions he has been on mainland European soil, he has missed the cut both times. That is not to say that he cannot contend as he was only two places behind McDowell last year in 3rd. At 27 to buy though he is value to oppose with Sporting's 26-29 possibly being a truer reflection of his chance.
