Betfair Picks - European Tour

Tipster: Mark

Odds: Betfair

Scottish Open

Round 2 Update
The pre-tournament lays are going well, with Monty lying 7 strokes off the lead, and Mickelson 9. Both will need some very low scores in last two rounds to stand any chance.

Lay Alastair Forsyth to win 1 Point @ 26.0 ---> Matched
Forsyth has never won in mainland Europe on this tour and given the quality of players around him it is difficult to see him breaking his duck here. His form this season is mediocre, and in my book an unlikely winner.

Lay Jonathan Lomas to win 1 Point @ 34.0 ---> Matched
You have to look back to 1996 for his last tour win, and although he comes here in decent form on balance is one to oppose at the odds. We successfully opposed him last week, where a closing 79 saw him drop into a tie for 19th place.

Pre-Tournament

Lay Colin Montgomerie to win 1 Point @ 42.0 ---> Matched
It is becoming a weekly lay of Monty. True, he had a good finish last week but he was flattered to finish so close after the leaders collapsed over the closing holes. He has won around Loch Lomond back in 1999, but his overall level of form has dipped since then.

Lay Phil Mickelson to win 2 Points @ 14.5 ---> Matched
Lefty warms up for the British Open like he has done for the last two years, so he will have course knowledge although he did miss the cut here last year. He was in superb form during the tournaments in the run up to the Masters, but hasn't quite reached those heights since. In a strong field is worth taking on.
