Tournament Trades

Buy Iain Poulter FP at 31 with Cantor Spreadfair for 0.4 Pts M/U 17.5, Loss 5.4 Pts
Since trying his hand F/T on the PGA tour, Poulter has had mixed results in the occasions that he has come home. He played 10 events in 05' and will probably play similar or slightly more in preparation for the Ryder Cup in September. However, in 05' he only posted two Top 10's and averaged over 30 in that time. His FP average on the course is 37. At 31 it's probably the best value of the quotes available.

Round One Trades

Sell Johan Edfors over Eduardo Romero at 0 with Sporting Index for 0.2 Pts M/U 22, Loss 4.4 Pts
Edfors has done little of late and last week we backed Romero on the back of good form outwith the tour in recent weeks. There is no h2h detail to go on but I would have thought this would have been 0-3 the other way.

Sell Simon Wakefield over Peter Hedblom at 2 with IG Sport for 0.2 Pts M/U -13, Profit 3 Pts

Head to heads sees an 11-9 event lead and 12-6-2 R1 lead for Hedblom suggesting that the firms may have the wrong favourite in this match-up. They have the Englishman favourite due to two Top 5’s for the Englishman recently against a run of poor form for the Swede. However, this should have made the price “choice” rather than going as far as they have in making Wakefield 2-5 over.

Sell Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano over Iain Woosnam at 5 with Sporting Index for 0.2 Pts M/U -16, Profit 4.2 Pts

Sell Jean van de Velde over Iain Woosnam at 4 with Sporting Index for 0.2 Pts M/U -19, Profit 4.6 Pts
Woosnam is being underestimated here on a course which will reward accuracy more than most of the courses they play in the year and isn’t just all about power. Although only 60th in accuracy stats in this field it is still far better than his two opponents. Head to heads sees a 10-6 lead (23-16 by round) over the Spaniard and a 4-6 deficit (8-13 in rounds) with Van de Velde. Arguably both prices should be 2-5 at worst.
