Summary: 2 Bets, 2 Losses. Loss 18.4 Pts. Poor week on both tours with Karlsson collapsing on the last three holes to make it slightly better than it was going to be. Tournament Trades Buy Bradley Dredge FP at 32 with IG Sport for 0.4 Pts. M/U 3, Loss 11.6 Pts Dredge won the last European Tour event in Switzerland but that will seem a million miles away this week on three Links courses in what is forecast to be very poor weather after a particularly good spell of late. Dredge has very poor form in this event with finishes of 34th and 23rd in the last two years after three missed cuts in his previous visits and averages over 40 in that time. For a Euro event late into the season, this does have a fairly good quality field and it also has quantity as well with over 160 players playing due to the use of three courses. So with all that info to hand Spreadex's quote of 32-35 may seem a little nearer the correct price. Buy Robert Karlsson FP at 35 with Sporting Index for 0.4 Pts M/U 18, Loss 6.8 Pts A big difference of opinion here on the Swede's chances with Spreadex going the same price on the 50 max scoring system. The allocation of points for Karlsson should roughly be around 5-7 so if Sporting were pricing to the old system they would be going up in the mid to high 20s which would be too low. Three missed cuts in 5 starts here with a 35th and a 3rd the other two visits contribute to an average on Sporting's scoring system of roughly 50 and he may also be due a rest having competed in the Ryder Cup and AmEx in the last two weeks. It also has to be noted that since his 1/2 in Germany and Sweden in the late summer he has not beaten 20th in 4 starts. . |
