Tournament Trades
Buy Paul Broadhurst FP at 31 with Sporting Index for 0.4 Pts M/U 67, Profit 9 Pts 24th and 25th here in the last two years, Broadhurst was a winner last time out in Portugal in early April but has been off the tour since then. Although there seems no apparent reason to oppose Broady this week, we do so purely on price. Arguably, Broadhurst should be mid 30’s in this company.
Buy Gary Orr FP at 33 with IG Sport for 0.4 Pts
M/U 50, Profit 6.8 Pts Orr was 10th here last year and with a Top 3 last week, that has possibly been the deciding factor from IG to offer him up at 30-33 when others go 32-35. Orr is one of these players with a quirky set of results. In 2005 he played 12 times with 7 of these events providing a Top 20 finish. The other 5 though were no better than 46th. 21st, cut and 3rd in his three events this year suggest the trend is continuing.
Buy Peter O’ Malley FP at 34 with IG Sport for 0.4 Pts M/U 50, Profit 6.4 Pts A first time on this course for POM who in 2005 on the European mainland missed more than 50% of cuts and his average FP in those events was 41. Two 8th places in China recently is the reason the quote is low but China form can be taken with a pinch of salt on this tour when it reaches Southern Europe.
Buy Robert Karlsson FP at 33 with Cantor Spreadfair for 0.4 Pts M/U 50, Profit 6.46 Pts Karlsson has missed the cut on both occasions the tour has came to this course and with ok if not spectacular form recently, he is a fair bet at 33.
Round One Trades
Sell Richard Finch over Jarmo Sandelin at 4 with Spreadex for 0.2 Pts M/U 0, Profit 0.8 Pts
Sell Darren Fichardt over Jarmo Sandelin at 2 with Spreadex for 0.2 Pts M/U -28, Profit 5 Pts Double play getting with the under-rated Jarmo who has posted two Top 10’s on this tour so far this year. Finch leads Sandelin 29-27 in round scoring since early 05’ and Fichardt trails 23-27 so there seems no particular reason to have both opponents as favourites by as much as they are.
Sell Brett Rumford over Eduardo Romero at 3 with Sporting Index for 0.2 Pts M/U 16, Loss 2.6 Pts This is a tougher one to work out because Romero is definitely on a downward spiral but he is taken as a bet as his form in other tours over the last few weeks suggests that he could perform ok here. 2nd on the South American tour, 16th on the Champions and 4th on the Euro Senior tour over the last 8 weeks is fair form and he is up against Rumford who has above average form recently in China, but in 2005 on the mainland he only posted three Top 30’s from thirteen starts |
