Michael Jonzon to win 22/1 e.w. @ Centrebet and Bet365  mc
A 3rd place finish on this course two years ago and finishes of 4th (Open de Andalucia) and 3rd (last week's BA-CA Golf Open) in his last three European Tour events are strong enough signals that he should go well this week. A win or runners-up finish this week will earn him his Tour Card for next season and that will be the completion of a long road back to the top tier after he lost his passion for the game in 2000. He should give himself a chance of earning that Tour Card this week.

Jean-Francois Remesy to win 33/1 e.w. @ Bet365 and ToteSport  mc
He has admitted to being lazy and doing the minimum practice necessary to survive on this Tour, but finally realised that it was increasingly not enough and the result of that new work ethic can be seen from his performance last week. Despite finishing the first round in 84th place, he then shot 67-65-64 to earn himself a playoff for the title. He didn't win, but it has given him a new confidence in his game and an optimism on this Tour. So where better to be playing next than his home country where he won the Open in 2004 and 2005? He played here for the first time last year and missed the cut, but he had missed the previous nine cuts in a row so it is not particularly relevant and he is a much more focussed player this year. I'd expected no bigger odds than for Jonzon.

Adam Gee to win 250/1 e.w. @ Ladbrokes  mc
Taking a real flyer here. Adam Gee spent four years at North Carolina University earning various NCAA honours, beat Jason Day in the prestigious Lake Macquarrie Amateur Championship last year, was the runner-up in the British Amateur Championship and was ranked in the top-10 in the World Amateur rankings before turning professional at the end of 2006. He has only played in three Challenge Tour events this year, but showed his potential at this level when lying in 7th place at the cut at the Open de Toulouse last month. He would shoot 73-75 over the weekend to falter that week, but would not do so in his next Tour event, last week's Vodafone Challenge, when he finished 3rd. That was enough to earn him a berth in this event and he is clearly a player who will contend for many European Tour titles in the future. This week may not be too soon.
