Fernandez-Castano MC

Brier T52

Cejka T16

Gonzo started ok but then faded to have the weekend off. Brier never showed. Cejka performed creditably but never held a chance of a place finish.

Alex Cejka 1pt ew @ 33-1 Ladbrokes -2pts

Alex started 2008 in bright fashion with Top 10s at Honda and Bay Hill, then suffered a lean spell missing 6 of his next 7 cuts. His last 2 starts in the US have been very encouraging (T26, T4) and back in his native Germany a big run looks likely, especially after his last efforts here produced a 2nd and 3rd.

Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano 1pt ew @ 100-1 Betfred -2pts

Gonzo has also been a little inconsistent recently, a 5th in Portugal followed by 3 missed cuts. But a 9th place last time in Wales signals a return to peak form and 100/1 is more than fair. His course form looks poor on the face of it, but he opened with a 66 and a 68 on his 2 starts to date which is a good sign.

Markus Brier 0.5pts ew @ 125-1 Totesport -1pt

Brier was sent off a prohibitive price as usual last time in his native Austria (around 25/1), and he found the expectation of his countrymen a little too much. But a 25th place was encouraging and I feel 125/1 is very big this week, albeit that this is a higher grade. An 8th place in 2006 adds weight to the argument.
