I'm quite surprised to see Adam as big a price as 33/1 while Garcia heads the betting at 10/1. Last week in Scotland was his first outing since the US Open and considering he would have been rusty a 25th place with a closing 74 was a good effort. His Open record while not spectacular is solid enough, an 8th place at Royal Liverpool in 2006 his best recent effort. It is about time Adam showed just how good he is and this week is a great chance with no Eldrick in the field.

Hunter Mahan 1pt ew @ 50-1 Boyles & Paddy (1st 7 places) 59-1 Unibet -2pts

Hunter is hot at the moment, and oddly for an American has a good Open record. Very streaky and if he gets off to a good start it will be difficult to stop him. Good value at 50/1, especially with 7 places.

Nick O'Hern 0.5pts ew @ 125-1 Boyles & Paddy (1st 7 places) 150-1 Elsewhere -1pt

Not many hit more fairways and greens than Nick O'Hern and that could be the key thing this week. Highly unlikely to win (which is why we are taking the lesser price with more places) but every chance of a high finish and a nice payout.

Alex Cejka 0.5pts ew @ 250-1 Ladbrokes -1pt

Cejka is in decent nick at the moment, with 3 top 20s in the US out of his last 4 events, and with 2 top 15s out of his last 6 in the Open, I see this price as too big to ignore.

Pat Perez 0.5pts ew @ 250-1 Sportingbet & Centrebet -1pt

A bit speculative this one, but Pat Perez is not a 250/1 shot in my book. A bit of a loose cannon but worth an interest.

A bizarre one to end with, but his Japanese form is exceptional at the moment. Admittedly this is like a prolific handicapper stepping into a Group 1, but you never know!
