10-6; +2.22pts Round 1 plays (1pt): Lee Westwood to beat Rory McIlroy -111 @ Bet365 LOST by 5 * Westwood: "I stood on the range and felt completely dizzy. I thought about not playing and probably shouldn't have. I was stupid to go out, especially with The Open next week". I agree!!! * Expecting another good performance from Westwood. Not only is he in great form, only losing in a playoff for last week's Open de France, but he is a former winner here who has finished in the top-30 in ten of his twelve visits to Loch Lomond. To add further weight to this as a first round play, he has opened with a sub-70 round in each of the last four years to lie 3rd, 23rd, 1st and 7th after the 1st round. McIlroy will be a good opponent, but Westwood's experience should be key on this course. Lee Westwood to beat Ross Fisher +105 @ SkyBet [tie loses] LOST by 4 Other than on his home course, it has been nine months since Fisher even tied Westwood in the first round of a European Tour event. He has failed to match Westwood's score in the 1st round any time in this event or finish ahead of him at the end of this event in their previous attempts at this title, so I can't see Fisher denying Westwood the victory tomorrow. Lee Westwood to beat Soren Kjeldsen -163 @ Paddy Power LOST by 6 Shorter odds and for good reason: Kjeldsen has yet to finish in the top-10 in any of his nine attempts at this title. He approaches this event in decent form, but still short of that of Westwood. Thomas Levet to beat Alvaro Quiros -105 @ FiveDimes WON by 3 Backing another former winner in good form. Levet won this title in 2004 and since winning the Open de Espana in May, he has recorded three further top-10 finishes on the European Tour. Quiros has continued to struggle despite changing his caddy, so doesn't warramnt favouritism in this matchup. Robert Allenby to beat Nick Watney -118 @ Pinnacle LOST by 5 Two players in mediocre form: both players have missed two of their last four cuts, though Allenby did finish 4th in the St. Jude Classic last month. However, it is mainly course form that determines this play: Allenby had a great record in the first four years that this course was used and he did have three good rounds when he returned in 2005. This may be very distant course form, but together with his recent performance at the St. Jude Classic, he looks far more likely to still be playing on Sunday than Watney who is making his course debut. Round 2 plays (1pt): Ernie Els to beat Nick Dougherty -135 @ Pinnacle WON by 2 Ernie Els to beat Adam Scott -125 @ Paddy Power LOST by 2 Soren Hansen to beat Soren Kjeldsen +105 @ SkyBet [tie loses] [also available @ FiveDimes and William Hill] TIED Brian Gay to beat Robert Rock -161 @ Unibet WON by 5 Soren Hansen to beat Graeme McDowell -125 @ Bet365 WON by 4 Round 3 plays (1pt): Brett Rumford to beat Jason McCreadie -125 @ Stan James, William Hill and Boyle Sports [tie loses] [available generally] WON by 1 Geoff Ogilvy to beat Oliver Wilson -125 @ Stan James, Bet365 and Boyle Sports [tie loses] [available generally] WON by 4 Martin Kaymer to beat Marcus Fraser -163 @ SkyBet WON by 3 Jose Maria Olazabal to beat David Drysdale -110 @ Ladbrokes [tie loses] WON by 3 Ernie Els to beat Gary Orr -163 @ SkyBet [available generally] WON by 4 Round 4 plays (1pt): Retief Goosen to beat Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano -156 @ Unibet LOST by 1 Martin Kaymer to beat Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano -156 @ Unibet WON by 3
