0-3; -8.50pts (system plays: 4-5-0) No round 1 plays. Round 2 play (2pts): Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano to beat Nicolas Colsaerts -125 @ SkyBet [also available @ William Hill] LOST by 3 Backing GFC to continue his fine run of form. His last four finishes on the European Tour have been 3rd, 11th, wd, 4th and now he stands in 5th place after the 1st round. Colsaerts has been playing well recently, but he still hasn't matched his opponent's form: he has finished behind him in six of their last seven common events. Colsaerts has also been very busy this summer - the last event that he missed on the European Tour was the Open Championship so fatigue may be a behind his 77 today and particularly his double bogey-bogey-bogey finish. [unofficial rd2 system plays: Fernandez-Castano tb Wiegele -160 (L); Parry tb Fisher -125 (W); McGrane tb Lynn -110 (L); Parry tb Noren -111 (W)] Round 3 play (2pts): Simon Thornton to beat Clodomiro Carranza +110 @ 5Dimes LOST by 7 Opposing Carranza who finds himself in 5th place after 36 holes. He does have a good record in South America, but he has only started the weekend in the top-10 on the European Tour just once previously: he then shot 76-75 over the weekend in the 2010 Czech Open to finish 35th. In fact, he has yet to record a top-10 finish on the European Tour, but needs at least a top-3 finish to get himself in position to avoid Q-School. Thornton has been in this position three times this year already (averaging under 71 in the 3rd round) and certainly doesn't warrant these odds. [unofficial rd3 system play: Sandelin tb Coltart +100 (L)] Round 4 play (4pts): Philip Golding to beat Steve Surry +105 @ 5Dimes LOST by 4 Opposing Surry whose 66 saw him rise 26 places to 14th today. In his previous four European Tour events, he managed to make the cut just once and finished 60th on that occasion, so he is certainly in unfamiliar territory. He also does not have a good record in Sunday play: in his eight final round scores this year, he averages 74.63, so it is no surprise that Golding has shot the lower final round score every time that they have both teed it up on Sunday. [unofficial rd4 system plays: Lara tb Lynn +120 (W); McDowell tb Willett -120 (W); Tampion tb McLean -130 (L); Little S tb Quesne -120 (L)]
