2-0; +6.00pts (system plays: 2-2-0) Round 1 play (4pts): Sergio Garcia to beat Edoardo Molinari -105 @ Bet365 WON by 6 Garcia missed the cut last week by one shot, but it was far from unexpected: it was his first start following a two-month absence from the game and he admitted in interview after the second round that his erratic game was due to nervousness. That shouldn't be a problem in his second event back and particularly not on this course. He has played in the last nine events staged at Valderrama (including two WGC events) and has finished in the top-7 in eight of those nine starts! No-one else can match that incredible course form and certainly not Molinari who has yet to play here and who has struggled since his dramatic singles match at the Ryder Cup: in his two subsequent events, he has missed the cut by 10 shots and finished 52nd. [unofficial rd1 system play: Hansen tb Bjorn +100 (W)] Round 2 play (2pts): Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano to beat Edoardo Molinari -110 @ SkyBet WON by 2 Opposing Molinari for the second day in a row. He was poor today and given his recent form it appears unlikely that there will be a turn-around tomorrow. By contrast, Gonzalo has finished 7th and 2nd in the last two weeks on the Iberian Peninsula and has a good record in his previous four attempts on this course. I can certainly see him maintainig his current top-15 position. [unofficial rd2 system play: Lawrie Pa tb Maybin +110 (L)] No round 3 plays. Round 4 play (4pts): Thomas Bjorn to beat Damien McGrane +100 @ 5Dimes TIED Opposing McGrane who enters the final round in 3rd place. In the 13 previous occasions that he has started the final round of a European Tour event in the top-5 he has yet to break 70 in that round and has only remained in the top-5 in five of those 13 occasions. [unofficial rd4 system plays: Green tb Hanson +105 (W); Maybin tb McGrane +110 (L)]
