Watson has played on this tour twice, missing cuts in Scotland in the last two Open's. He is obviously a better player than this, and is improving year by year. However, i dispute the fact he is favourite against last years winner and a local player who was 18th last year and has a win this year in Sicily and a 4th in a better field at Wentworth only 5 weeks ago.

It has not been a particularly good year for Wood or Garrido, both have played 7 European Tour events on European soil and Wood has just had the better of it with one 2nd place. Garrido has finished 13th in one event but generally all other results for the pair have been poor or have resulted in missed cuts. Four, therefore is quite a big handicap to overcome on recent form and with Wood having played one Open de France and finishing 65th, course form is with Garrido who has played the event every year since the mid 90's with best finishes of 13th and 17th
