Rose has had an excellent season so far with 9 top 10's and including a win at the WGC event in Doral. He has shown he can play links golf well and will be looking to take the next step up and win a major. Dufner has the best recent form of anyone with 2 wins a 2nd and a 4th from his last 5 starts. With the rough being very penal this week he has the game to play this course well ranking in the top 10 in Driving Accuracy and Greens in Regulation on the PGA Tour. Van Pelt comes to Lytham on the back of another solid season. He has 6 top 10's this year and was runner up to Tiger on his last start at the AT&T. He is ranked in the top 10 in total driving and in putting and is a player I can see being in contention this week. Mahan has won twice on the PGA tour this year and was 8th last time out. He is ranked 1 in total ball striking on the PGA Tour and has shown previously that he is comfortable with links golf. With the form that Mahan, Dufner and Van Pelt have shown this year they would be much shorter in the betting if they were European and are looking to follow Duval and Lehman in winning at Lytham after playing well on the PGA Tour in the build up to the Open.
