This looks a wonderful event and the oddsmakers have put up some very level matches, but the banker looks to be
Francesco Molinari to beat Edoardo Molinari 5 points @ 4-7 (Corals) Talentwise, there is a case for saying Eddy rules the roost given that Franni looks very one-dimensional but he simply hasn't been at his best for a while. Despite promise in early-season events, his form has levelled off and that inured wrist looks to still be causing him problems off the tee and with the flat stick - neither will do this week. Indeed, he may need help to improve on his 17th here in 2010. Conversely, his brother continues to churn out excellent results without doing anything special. Top-20 in 8 out his last 9 stroke-play events, his accuracy and green-finding has never been less than perfect and that should give him the advantage on a course he finished 3rd and 27th on, the latter care of a poor final nine. By that tie this week, he should have this match well wrapped up. Richie Ramsey has all the elements to be a major factor this week but that apart he appeals in his own 72-hole match Richie Ramsey to beat Shane Lowry 3 points @ 5-6 (Paddy Power)
There is plenty of promise in Lowry's recent play but Ramsey is also hinting that a win is imminent. Here, driving accuracy will be vital and no-one is better than the Scot in that regard. Top that with quality iron play and he will have plenty of chances to add to recent rounds in the mid-60s, and he ended last weekend with a 68/65. Lowry does struggle to finish off chances and whilst he was 12th here on his only run, he is going to be playing a lot of rescue shots if this year's stats are anything to go by. It could all prove too much in the end. |
