Thomas Bjorn to beat Thorbjorn Olesen - 9 points win @ 10-11 (Totesport/Betfred)

Just one bet this week and a confident maximum bet at that.

Bjorn is expected to go very close to defending his title this week and just a few days after a solid 10th at Gleneagles (where he was also defending Champ), he should certainly be scoring low enough to teach his protege a thing or two.

The older Dane makes no secret that his final round 62 last season was one of the rounds of his long career and that he looks forward to playing at Crans everey year. Contrast that to his sometime surly attitude towards his game and the course, and he comes here in the highest spirits possible. Having failed to break 70 in only one round from his last eight here, Bjorn can use his improved putting to repeat a solid performance, even if he doesn't have to beat the likes of Rory and Lee John this week. At Gleneagles last week, just a few sloppy choices hindered his progress until Payday and it wouldn't surprise to see TB start relaxing far more now that he is getting closer to vice-captaining the Ryder Cup.

Last week Olesen was opposed by Chris Wood. Untimately he beat his oppo by two shots having been miles clear at halfway, but once again failed to break 70 on a Sunday when in with a chance. His talent is in no doubt and his future looks secured, however he still looks a tad green at times of difficulty and isn't totally in control of when to push on and when to sit, often resulting in pushing too hard. That will come but it may not be at Crans, where he took the weekend off in 2011.
