2-2; -2.00pts (system plays: 9-2-0) Round 1 play (4pts): Raphael Jacquelin to beat Brendan Grace +100 @ BetVictor [also available @ Stan James] LOST by 1 It may have been on a different course, but Jacquelin is the defending champion from the inaugural Sicilian Open last year. But it isn't that he merely found the Donnafugata course suited him, he has tended to play well on all Italian courses: in his last six starts in this country, he has finishes of 16th, 7th, 2nd and 1st. Grace has only played once in Italy previously (2009 Italian Open; 21st, six shots behind Jacquelin) and a best-finish of 25th since the Tour left South Africa (Jacquelin finished 5th two weeks ago in the Open de Andalucia) should mean that he is an unlikely favourite in this matchup. [unofficial rd1 system play: Webster tb Pavan -110 (W)] Round 2 play (2pts): Tommy Fleetwood to beat Tom Lewis +100 @ Paddy Power [also available @ Boyle Sports] LOST by 1 After leading the Open Championship on the first day as an amateur and then winning his third event as a pro, Lewis has certainly made the headlines as a young player. That instant fame has seen him travel to Florida in the past month to compete in the Tavistock Cup and in the Transitions Championship on the PGA Tour, but he struggled in the U.S., just as he has struggled since winning the Portugal Masters. In his eight events since that win, he has made just two cuts (one event was the no-cut HSBC Champions) and he has a scoring average of 73.55. He did play well today, but I still don't see him as a player to back and there is always value in opposing hyped players. Fleetwood is just as good a prospect and his route to this Tour - he topped the Challenge Tour rankings last year - should make it easier for him to adjust to life on Tour. [unofficial rd2 system plays: Olesen tb Lewis -120 (W); Lowry tb Kjeldsen -120 (W); Wood tb Lawrie +115 (W); Mulroy tb Lewis +120 (W); Price tb Lawrie +112 (W)] Round 3 play (2pts): Paul Broadhurst to beat Do-Hoon Kim #752 +100 @ Stan James WON by 2 [unofficial rd3 system play: Strange tb Wakefield +115 (L)] Round 4 play (2pts): Graeme Storm to beat Peter Lawrie +100 @ Bet365 [also available @ Stan James] WON by 3 Lawrie held the lead in this event after the 1st and 2nd rounds, but slipped down to 4th after a third round 72. Given that he hasn't finished in the top-10 in any of his last 18 starts and his record in 2008 reads - played: 6, cuts missed: 4, best finish: 28th - it is hard to see him bouncing back tomorrow. Storm looks the more likely to stay in the top-10 given that he ranks 3rd in greens in regulation this week, was 13th in this event last year and has finished in the top-25 of his last two starts. [unofficial rd4 system plays: Lara tb Olesen -120 (W); Goya tb Daly -119 (W); Green tb Mulroy -111 (W); Webster tb Daly -110 (L)]
