No doubt that the top three are going to be very difficult to shift at this penultimate event of the saeson, but at a combined price of 1-3 (1.34) it has to be worth looking away from star trio Tiger Woods, Henrik Stenson and Ian Poulter to make a profit this week.

That Betfair allows a profit without getting anywhere near winning is a boon in this situation, and on a course that is throwing up plenty of scores of 66, it may take just a fast start from one of the selections to reach the first lay target. The first four holes contain two par-5s ranked 2nd and 5th easiest on the course and exchanges do seem to over-react to a quick series of birdies so take a trio of players within a handful and hope for a quite obtainable target of 4 -under through 5 or 6 holes.

First up is multiple winner Thomas Bjorn. The Dane let himself down today with poor approach play and putting but will be happy enough with Thursday's opening 64 and we know he can go silly low when the greens are receptive.

One of Bjorn's greatest rounds was the final round 9-under at Crans in 2011 and he backed that up with a repeat win earlier this season, again shooting low (65) on Sunday before beating Craig Lee in a play-off, and once again showing stunning approach play and flat-stick prowess . He is a bit temperamental, and has never hidden it - he could have beaten Ernie Els in Germany but for losing the plot midway through the final day - but he is not afraid of anyone in the game, has the perfect iron play for this weekend and has shot rounds of 63, 65 and 68 over the last three weeks, again evidence of his ability. The current Betfair price of 90 is 25 points over the fixed-odds and should be taken.

Bjorn's victim in Crans, Craig Lee, was available at 310 as I write this article but anything around 200+ is worth being with. The Scot has taken his time to reach the big stage, but the 2013 has been very good to him and he currently lies 55th in the RTD after a consistent season in which he has backed up that runner-up placing with 4th in Madeira and three other top-20s. The recent 28th in Perth was an excellent effort whilst top-20 in China last week was further evidence of his well-being. It will be tough for him to beat the names in front of him, but should he really be this big? A double-bogey 7 at the 11th hole today disguised a decent enough round and it is not hard to see a fast start from him (already 5-under for the first 4 holes combined). Top this with the top-10 price of 8-1, easily one of the best value bets of the season in this market.

Finally, one of the most accurate players on the circuit, Francesco Molinari, is added at a three-figure price. Another, like Bjorn, who knows how to shoot low, Franni is best coming from off-the-pace as he did when running-up in the BMW a couple of weeks ago with a brilliant final round 64. Again, he is a player who finds more fairways and greens than most and it is all down to his putting as to whether he hits 64 or 72 - at the price this big event winner is just too big. Once more, just a shot outside the current top-10, 14-5 is the wrong price for a leaderboard finish.

With stakes above, should any of the three players hit the first target there will be a banked profit of just short of 2 points, and the second lay then returns a further profit of 5 points, with 40 points running free.
