Marc Warren - 3.5 points @ 30

Mikko Illonen - 1.5 points @ 85

Lay both players 12 points @ 8

An open leaderboard wiith a few players that are going to struggle to win in any situation - under pressure if the scoring becomes low, and equally if the conditions mean a war of attrition - and whilst normally the winner comes from the top at halfway, I am happy to look just further down, although -6 is surely as low as we can go for the winner.

Both selections are winners under pressure and in very good class. Of course, Warren has that form in a few Links events, including the Scottish Open and the Paul Lawrie matchplay and a late bogey today disguises some otherwise decent play and probably puts a few points on his price.

The Finn is harder to fancy on finishes recorded here but does have a few low ones in this event, and comes into the event in better form than his figures - top-20 at the KLM is always decent, whilst last weeks eventual 44th was a much better event after three rounds, after which he stood 5th, before a horrendous 8-over back-nine on Sunday dropped him 39 places. It is conjecture perhaps but a simple level par on those few holes sees him finish top-5 and very much in form. Such are the fickle variants in golf.

Given many of the front runners are inexperienced, it doesn't look that much to ask for both of these players to trade much lower than their current price. Both play St Andrews twice over the weekend, something that was often seen as an advantage (although Kingsbairns is giving 5-unders away like freebies from a cereal packet), and either or both could easily hit the mark.
