Three bets very early but prices should not be beaten. More to follow...............
UPDATE: Rhys Davies 1 point each-way 22-1 1/5 123. Thought Rhys Davies was the one to beat this week in Madeira but couldn't take 28-1 ante-post. However with the likes of Gouveia and Ekvira looking too dear off the pace am happy enough to take the 22-1 overnight for this proven winner just a handful of shots off the lead round this tricky track. Current leader Widegren admits he'll be nervous whilst I'm not convinced the others are great chasers although last years runner-up Scott Henry is the obvious danger. As far as the European Tour winner is concerned, Davies is relaxed, knows he is almost certain of a top15 place with a couple more decent results and can just play his very good accuracy game. His back 9 today is something that most of these would pay for and I can see him putting real pressure on the leaders and forcing errors as they play the stretch. The Welshman handles pressure extremely well when in contention - simply see the way he destroyed Louis Oosthuizen in Morocco, or his trap-to-line win in France a couple of weeks ago- and any move from his current position must get the non-winners looking over their shoulder. I went closer to 14-1 from here and fancy he is under-rated even with just 18 to go
