He warmed up in Scotland last week – took him a while to adjust in round one and was blown away in round three but his other two rounds were 67 and 66
With low rounds like that it makes sense to back him for first round leader David Horsey 0.5 ew 175/1 Bet365 He has been in good form although he keeps throwing in a bad round or two but says on Twitter he is peaking just in time for Birkdale
Again with those low rounds and his propensity for going low early a first round leader bet is prudent Paul Waring 0.4 ew 150/1 1/4 6 with Unibet & 1/5 6 with Boyles Local lad who last played in an Open here in 98 Has been a bit hit and miss this year but led in France after the opening day
