2-17; -8.24pts Pre-tournament plays: BACK 1pt Soren Kjeldsen 18.5 23rd Martin Kaymer 21 31st Richard Sterne 34 mc Benjamin Hebert 55 6th Richard Bland 60 mc Nicolas Colsaerts 75 mc Nacho Elivro 85 19th Stephen Gallacher 95 mc Alexander Knappe 100 mc Alejandro Canizares 100 wd Finishes of 15th, 2nd and 8th in the last three years suggest that Kjeldsen doesn't truggle under the pressure of playing in fromt of his home crowds and should go close again in his current form Kaymer was 6th here last year and certainly has the class to be a justifiable favourite in this weak field Sterne is another who finished in the top-10 here last year and has good form in recent weeks - top-20 in his last two European Tour events and 28th in the PGA Championship Hebert's fairways and greens approach has seen him finish in the top-15 in each of the last two years and it won't be long before he wins on this Tour having won six times on the Challenge Tour Bland is another with good form on this course even as far back as the 1998 Navision Open and it is only two months since he finished 2nd in the BMW International Open so there is value in these odds Colsaerts has shown glimpses that he can be back to his best in recent months with strong finishes in the BMW PGA Championship, Nordea Masters, BMW International Open and Scottish Open Finishes of 8th in the BMW International Open and 12th in European Open against much stronger fields suggest that Elvira could also be a contender this week Gallacher has finished rd1 inside the top-10 in each of his last three starts so show that he is also providing glimpses of his best game Knappe has shown more than just glimpses recently with finishes of 26th (when leading after rd2), 12th and 5th in his last three European Tour events The same is also true for Canizares who played well last week to finish 4th in the Paul Lawrie Match Play LAY 20pts liability Thomas Pieters 8.8 mc Pieters was in the form of his life when he won last year and forced his way onto the Ryder Cup team. He is still the best player in this field, but he is nowhere near last year's form so I can support him at single figure odds Pre-rd3 play: BACK 1pt Marc Warren 21 14th This hasn't been a great year for Warren, but he finds himself in 2nd place after 36 holes. While contention rust must be an issue, he does have the experience to cope with the weekend pressure and, more importantly, he won this event on this course in 2014, That's enough positive mental association for him to continue playing this week and much better than these odds suggest for a player only one shot off the lead. Pre-rd4 plays: BACK 1pt David Horsey 3.1 2nd Julian Suri 7,2 1st Chris Paisley 15.5 3rd Robert Rock 15,5 10th Gregory Havret 18.5 31st John Daly 25 10th Steve Webster 55 3rd
