Catalonia Ladies Masters Result: 1-1 (+0.5 points); YTD:-12.50 points Nocera 2nd; Johnson 11th Close but no cigar. Another runner-up finish sees us finish on the wrong side of the ledger for the season.
All plays 2 points this week. The final event on the LET calender presents us with perhaps the best investment opportunity of the year. A small field, a high proportion of players not likely to contend, and Skybet still paying top 4 places all add up to increased value. As such I have made this weeks plays 2 points each, not the usual 1.5 points.
Trish Johnson 14/1 each way at Skybet Excluding the Evian masters and the British Open, Johnson has finished in the top 20 in her last 6 events on this tour. At this level, she is someone who is always a chance. She has 18 tournament victories to her credit and at 14/1, in this small, weak field, it is excellent value.
Gwladys Nocera 14/1 each way at Skybet Did not disgrace herself in the Solheim Cup, which included a victory over world number 2 Christy Kerr in the singles. Like Johnson, Nocera has had a run of top 20 finishes on the LET. In fact, excluding the Evian Masters and the British Open where the best of the LPGA played, Nocera has only missed out on a top 20 finish once in 13 starts. She is a quality player; one of the few on display this week. 14/1 is worthy of an investment. |
