Scandinavian TPC Result: 2-1 (+3.75 points);YTD - 16.45 points. Gulbis 2nd Koch 3rd Pettersen 6th Very, very frustrating. Petterson looked set for a top 5 finish after starting the third round in outright second, just one shot behind Anika. But she shot four over for the round, and Nocera finished birdie-birdie to push Pettersen out of the placings. On top of this Gulbis looked set for at least a play-off with Anika but was denied that chance by a 30 foot birdie putt from Sorenstam on the last hole. A small profit but it could have been so much more.
All Plays 1.5 points
Natalie Gulbis 16/1 each way at Skybet Gulbis finished strongly in the Women's Open last week, improving her score in each round before finishing with a final round 66. This must bring her into this event with some real confidence. That was her seventh top 10 of the season, and apart from the obvious exception of Anika, this isnt the strongest of fields. Gulbis must consider it a real opportunity to breakthrough to the winner's circle.
Carin Koch 20/1 each way at Skybet Koch was runner-up in this event last year and comes here in excellent form. A 15th at the Women's Open followed a 5th in the Evian Masters, and merely continues a season littered with good results. I expect her to make a strong showing in her native country this weekend.
Suzann Pettersen 80/1 each way at Skybet A bit of a smokey here, but I've always felt Pettersen has above average talent. Unfortunately she has been injury plagued and this season has only competed in a handful of events. While her results have only been moderate she showed enough in the LPGA event in Ohio to suggest she is on the right track. Another factor is her form in Sweden....she has finished top 15 in this event the last 3 years. |
