LPGA Corning Classic

Outright plays (1.5 units):

Cristie Kerr to win 25/1 e.w. @ Centrebet
Course form unimpressive, but this is still a large price for a player who has finished 2nd in two of her last four starts.

Catriona Matthew to finish in the top-four 10/1 @ Centrebet
Matthew has a habit of securing 2nd rather than 1st and has played well this year. Five Dimes offer 7/1 for five places so will forfeit one for better odds.

Danielle Ammaccapane to finish in the top-five 13/1 @ Five Dimes
Not a regular top-5 finisher, but did finish in the top-10 on her last visit to Corning and was in the top-10 last week as well.

1st round plays (1.5 units):

Lorie Kane to beat Michele Redman -115 @ Five Dimes
Natalie Gulbis to beat Beth Bauer -122 @ Five Dimes
Beth Daniel to beat Dottie Pepper -130 @ Five Dimes

1st round update: 1-2-0; -2.18 units

Kane/Redman LOST by 1
Gulbis/Bauer WON by 4
Daniel/Pepper LOST by 2

2nd round plays (1.5 units unless stated):

Rosie Jones to beat Lorie Kane -150 @ Five Dimes
Wendy Doolan to beat Natalie Gulbis -105 @ Five Dimes [3 units]

2nd round update: 0-2-0; -5.40 units

Jones/Kane LOST by 5
Doolan/Gulbis LOST by 1

Mid-point update:

Kerr 19th
Matthew 1st
Ammaccapane 14th

Ugly situation with the 18-hole plays, so just as well all three outrights are in contention. We'll see if Matthew can finally hold on to a tournament lead.

3rd round plays (1.5 units):

Soo-Yun Kang to beat Helen Alfredsson -110 @ Five Dimes
Beth Daniel to beat Natalie Gulbis -120 @ Five Dimes
Cristie Kerr to beat Michele Redman -140 @ Five Dimes

3rd round update: 3-0-0; +4.50 units

Kang/Alfredsson WON by 1
Daniel/Gulbis WON by 2
Kerr/Redman WON by 1

4th round plays (1.5 units):

Beth Daniel to beat Natalie Gulbis -123 @ Five Dimes
Soo-Yun Kang to beat Helen Alfredsson -112 @ Five Dimes
Akiko Fukushima to beat Yu Ping Lin -125 @ Five Dimes

4th round update: 2-1-0; +1.13 units

Daniel/Gulbis WON by 2
Kang/Alfredsson WON by 3
Fukushima/Lin LOST by 1

Final update:

18-holes: 6-5-0; -1.95 units

Outrights: 1-2; +12.00 units

Kerr 15th
Matthew 3rd
Ammaccapane 15th

Matthew made us sweat as usual, but came through for the top-four finish without the win again. Kerr and Ammaccapane, in particular, could have added to the total, but still a very profitable event. Finally bring the 2003 LPGA Tour season into profit!
