Wachovia LPGA Classic

Outright plays (1.5 units):

Grace Park to win 16/1 e.w. @ Five Dimes
Park may not be in the winning form of her compatriot, Pak, but having secured five top-3 finishes in her last eight starts, she is not very far behind. Her last win was in May, but having been in contention so many times, it is only a matter of time before she wins again. She did miss the cut last year, but she was in a poor run of form at the time and that is certainly not the case now. Another top-3 perhaps?

Lorena Ochoa to win 20/1 e.w. @ Paddy Power
Ochoa was a top-3 finisher in the Evian Masters and, for two rounds, looked as though she would repeat that in the Women's British Open the following week. Like Park, she has not played since, but also like Park, she has been very competitive even though not turning the top-3 finishes into wins this year. She has five top-3 finishes so far in 2003. She did play in this event last year when she was a Futures Tour player and finished 14th so she should be looking for a much better finish this time around.

Beth Daniel to win 33/1 e.w. @ Bet365, Stan James and Paddy Power
There are no problems with Daniel's form either. She has finished in the top-20 in each of her last five events, winning once (Canadian Women's Open). She also finished strongly over the weekend from making the cut on the mark to finishing 12th. You can't fault her for effort! She also has an excellent record at Berkleigh with three top-5 finishes and two further top-25 finishes in her five previous visits. Should be lower than 33/1.

Final update: 0-3; -4.50 units

Park 8th
Ochoa 35th
Daniel 5th

Had hoped for a lot better as all three selections had been in the top-10 with one round to play. Daniel was 3rd with just one hole to play, but a six on the last meant she fell out of the places. Seem to have a lot of near misses on this Tour.
