Canadian Women's Open
FINAL RESULT: 4-1-1; +3.93pts
Park/Doolan WON by 10
Jang/Gulbis TIED (Push)
Jang/Mallon LOST by 10
Jang/Han WON by 7
Rosales/Han WON by 7
Kung/Steinhauer WON by 1
Didn't do too much wrong other than oppose the winner. Certainly
didn't expect Mallon to contend after winning the U.S. Open last week
and Jang's 11th place finish should have been enough. Very impressive
performance from Mallon.
72-hole plays (1.5pts unless stated):
Gloria Park to beat Wendy Doolan -115 @
Five
Dimes [3pts]
Siding with the form player. Doolan has missed the cut in each of the
last two weeks and has finished behind Park in each of her last five
events. Could see Park gaining her third top-10 in four years in this
event.
Jeong Jang to beat Natalie Gulbis -200 @
NordicBet
A change of caddy and Jang has been a different player in the last few
months. She has finished ahead of Gulbis in each of their last six
common events, so even at these odds there is still value.
Jeong Jang to beat Meg Mallon -119 @
Expekt
[3pts]
Expecting a big let-down from Mallon despite her success in this event
(on different courses). Jang has become very consistent player and a
slow start is the very least expected from the newly-crowned U.S.
Women's Open Champion.
Jeong Jang to beat Hee-Won Han -111 @
Centrebet
Just one top-10 in 14 starts in 2004 is a paltry return for Han and is
well worth opposing. No surprise, therefore, that Jang has finished
ahead of her in eight of their last ten common events.
Jennifer Rosales to beat Hee-Won Han -111 @
Stan James
Similar reasons here. Rosales has a 7-2-1 h2h record against Han in
their last ten common events and is in good form with a win in May and
two top-10 finishes in the last three weeks.
Candie Kung to beat Sherri Steinhauer -118 @
Centrebet
No doubting Kung's form either. Two top-10 finishes in the last two
weeks should mean that only fatigue should prevent her from another high
finish this week.
