Outright Picks - LPGA Tour

Tipster: Stanley

The Mitchell Company Tournament of Champions

FINAL RESULT: 0-3; -4.50pts

Han 6th
Kerr 7th
Inkster 16th

Disappointing to get no return from this event's outrights. Inkster held a two-shot lead at one stage during the 2nd round and if Han hadn't bogeyed the last hole she would have finished in a tie for 3rd place.

Outright plays (1.5pts):

Hee-Won Han to win 16/1 e.w. @ Bet365 and BetInternet
Trying not to side too much with players who have played in South Korea and Japan in the last two weeks, but Han is a player who has shown some form over the last two weeks without being in the tiring phase of contention. Before the international leg of the LPGA Tour, she had finished 1st, 4th and 15th in her last three starts and lowered her score in every round to finish 2nd last year and that was only via a playoff loss to Dorothy Delasin. With no Annika in the field, I would have expected shorter odds on Han.

Cristie Kerr to win 16/1 e.w. @ Stan James, Bet365 and BetInternet
Kerr did travel to South Korea and Japan and having withdrawn from two of her last five events with a shoulder injury, it is probably just as well. So, having finished 1st, 8th and 5th in her other events in the last two months, she should be counted upon to be very competitive if fit. She last played in this event on the Magnolia Grove course in 2002 when she was 3rd with one round to play. Although she faltered in the final round, there is still good reason to expect Cristie Kerr to at least secure a place finish if she is in contention this time around.

Juli Inkster to win 25/1 e.w. @ Stan James, Centrebet, Bet365 and BetInternet
A place finish has become something of a rarity for Inkster since she won the U.S. Women's Open. However, with finishes of 3rd and 6th in her last two starts, she may at least be finishing this season in good form. It will certainly help that she has not travelled in the last two months and while her form on this course is not too impressive - a best finish of 5th in 1999 - she did finally master this course over the weekend last year with rounds of 67 and 69. It should help her confidence in believing that she can be competitive on this course.
