Matchup Picks - LPGA Tour

Tipster: Stanley

ShopRite LPGA Classic (1.5pts unless stated):

Laura Davies to beat Christina Kim -114 @ Expekt
Three reasons to oppose Kim this week: this will be her eight straight week of Tour golf; she was right in contention on Sunday for a major championship having never previously finished in the top-20 in one; and she missed the cut on her debut here last year. Davies is fresher and has made the cut in six of seven previous visits, including a 2nd place finish (1992).

Michele Redman to beat Christina Kim -140 @ Five Dimes [3pts]
Similar story with Redman who has made nine of eleven cuts here, including the last five and can boast a 7-3-0 h2h lead over Kim in 2004.

Jennifer Rosales to beat Christina Kim -111 @ Stan James
Rosales has made the last two cuts here and is playing better than ever. Over the past twelve years, she has never missed a halfway cut, with the only blemishes being a couple of first-round withdrawals in 22 starts. She also won last month, so should normally have tougher opponents that Kim.

Patricia Meunier-Lebouc to beat Kate Golden -145 @ Five Dimes
Golden has had two top-5 finishes in the last two years here, but is not playing particularly well at the moment. She has failed to beat Meunier-Lebouc in any of their last four common events and will find it harder to so as Meunier-Lebouc gets back into the swing of life back on Tour.

Jeon Jang to beat Sherri Steinhauer -135 @ Five Dimes [3pts]
Opposing Steinhauer who has returned to the weekly matchup listings on the back of her surprise win in the Big Apple Classic last month. Her last top-10 before that win was back in 2002 in the same event - she hasn't had another since. She has also failed to secure a single top-10 in this event despite 18 attempts. Jang was a runner-up in the Kellogg-Keebler only two weeks ago and finished in the top-10 on this course last year.

Michele Redman to beat Sherri Steinhauer -114 @ Expekt [4.5pts]
Simple extension of the above. Redman finished as high as 4th in this event in 1995 and holds a healthy 7-3-0 h2h lead over Steinhauer in 2004.

Final update: 4-2-0; +4.28pts

Davies/Kim WON by 4
Redman/Kim WON by 10
Rosales/Kim WON by 12
Meunier-Lebouc/Golden LOST by 6
Jang/Steinhauer LOST by 2
Redman/Steinhauer WON by 2

Another good profit on LPGA matchups. Good return from opposing Kim, but got a little lucky in opposing Steinhauer who played better than expected. Both Jang and Redman trailed her with 18 holes to play, though it took Steinhauer to birdie the last two holes to beat Jang.
