FINAL RESULT: 0-3; -12.72pts

Gustafson/Davies LOST by 5
Pettersen/Hjorth LOST by 4
Phatlum/Wang LOST by 7

Continue to struggle with LPGA Tour matchups without any explanation of why this year is so different to previous years. Phatlum was a major disappointment. After promising so much heading into this week, she finished last. And that turned a good result with Han into an overall loss on the event.

Matchup plays (2pts unless stated):

Sophie Gustafson to beat Laura Davies -171 @ Pinnacle
Short odds on Sophie to win this match, but they could hardly be anything but. Over the last 12 months, she has a 13-0-0 h2h record against Davies on the LPGA Tour and a 16-1-0 h2h record against her in all events over the last 12 months.

Suzann Pettersen to beat Maria Hjorth -111 @ Centrebet
Opposed Hjorth with Meena Lee three weeks ago and paid the price, but will do so again with Pettersen who has a 13-2-1 h2h record against her on the LPGA Tour over the past year. And in terms of their performances in South-East Asia, the advantage also lies with Pettersen. Her sole finish in this region was 6th in the 2003 Nine Bridges Classic, whereas Hjorth's finishes in that event have been 43rd, 57th and 45th, plus she finished 30th in the Singapore Ladies Masters and 26th in the Thailand Ladies Open on the Ladies European Tour last year.

Pornapong Phatlum to beat Chun Wang -118 @ Centrebet [6pts]
Phatlum is certainly one of Thailand's rising young stars and has already made quite an impression in the previous Thai event to be on one of the main Tours: in the 2005 Thailand Ladies Open, which was part of the Ladies European Tour schedule, she was in 4th position after two rounds at the age of just 15 years and 4 months. She struggled over the weekend, but that was to be expected at such an age and she did still finish 17 shots ahead of her Chinese opponent. But she has made good use of the Ladies Asian Golf Tour, which was set up last year, to gain experience and even won the Hong Kong Ladies Masters as an amateur in February. She has since turned professional and recorded top-10 finishes in half her ALGT events - Wang has just one in six events - so should be the strong favourite in this match.
