Knoxville Open

One of the original six events on the Buy.com Tour, or as was twelve years ago, this is being staged at Fox Den for the third year. The course is narrow with water and trees coming into play on most holes. At over 7,100 yards, the course is quite long so there should be no repeat of last week's birdie-fest. The greens are reported to be 10,316 square feet in size. Considering that the average green on the PGA Tour is 6,000 square feet, they are pretty large greens!

72-hole plays:

Heath Slocum to beat Matt Peterson -110 @ Camelot
Peterson has finished 7th and 12th in the last two years here and was a profitable pick last week, but going with Slocum's blistering form in this matchup. He won the Greater Cleveland Open two weeks ago and was a close 3rd last week. With four top-10 finishes and five missed cuts from twelve starts this season, it is clear that if Slocum is going to make the cut, he is going to be in contention

David Gossett to beat Chris Couch -110 @ Camelot [2 units]
With two missed cuts and a best of 35th in his last five events, Couch's season has rather stalled - he did win the Florida Classic earlier this year. With Gossett starting to gain regular top-10 finishes on the Buy.com Tour and make the cut when he steps up to the PGA Tour, he is tipped to take this matchup with ease

Final update: 2-0-0 and +3.00 units

Nice double to confirm my thoughts that this could be a profitable Tour. Slocum's blistering form continued - he shot 23-under-par for the 2nd consecutive week, won the event and beat Peterson by nine shots in the process. Very impressive golf! Gossett always had the lead over Couch, but in the end only won by one shot. Enough any day!
