Finished tied 6th in this event last year and currently leads the all round driving stats. Has the all round game to do well again in this event this year and again has shown great early season form this year.

Finished tied 22nd in this event last year but was amongst the thick of things until at last round of 74. Again shown some solid form already this year and in fact is currently 3rd on the all round driving stats and think these odds offer great value for a player who is sure to break through at some point.

Again I have been tempted by these odds for a player who seems to raise his again when he returns to the Nationwide events. Although he has struggled a little on the main tour this season did manage to run top 3 in one of his 3 Nationwide starts. The Australasians have a good record in this event which is normally effected by gusting winds in the windy city of Chicago and in fact 12 of the 16 made the cut last year!!

With this being the "first major" of the Nationwide tour the course will be set up a little harder than for the normal week in week out event. Whilst the bombers will always enjoy an advantage, accuracy is going to be of a premium this week. Mr Flanagan has the perfect game for this week (10th in ball striking) and combined with his great form over the last few weeks think he should figure very well. He lead the birdie stats in this event last year with 20 in eventually finishing tied for 11th and if he can reduce the number of bogies this year he will surely figure at the top of the leaderboard come Sunday evening. The only slight concern is the added pressure of battlefield promotion but am sure the former US Amateur champion will be able to cope with this.
