Ben Martin 1pt e/w @ 40/1 Stan James

Young Ben Martin has an advantage over most of the field in his age bracket in that he has already experienced the PGA Tour back in 2011. Unfortunately it didn't quite work out for him and he dropped back down to the Web.com the following year and he has struggled to put in any real challenging performances. However, recently Martin's form seems to have picked up and his last three results read 11th/11th/8th which is encouraging given that this week he is playing his home course. Despite being a Clemson Tiger and this being where he lives and practices, the 25 year old missed the cut here last year but given his recent performances I expect this to change. He is 4th in GIR with 78.15%, 15th in Total Driving (38th Driving Distance and 44th Driving Accuracy), 11th in Scoring Average with 69.89 and 3rd in ball Striking. He was touted to have a big future but has yet to deliver, hopefully a familiar course and home support will finally push him over the winning line.

Will MacKenzie 0.5pts e/w @ 66/1 Stan James

MacKenzie has a bit of a mixed record so far this year in that he has only made 50% of the cuts in the tournaments he has played in but can boast a 4th at the WNB Classic in Texas. He has some form in this tournament back in 2011 when he finished 4th, shooting three rounds in the 60s but missed the cut last year. What I like about him other than his previous form here are his stats, namely his 6th ranking in GIR with 75.56% and Total Driving ranking of 7th with a combined 24th in Accuracy and 34th in Driving Distance. He hasn't quite recaptured the form he showed in 2008 when winning the Viking Classic on the PGA Tour but certainly has the game to contend here.

Aaron Goldberg 0.25pts e/w @ 175/1 Bet365

Here we have a player who hasn't really delivered so far in 2013, only making three cuts out of eight and who's best finish is a 9th at the beginning of the year in Panama but I have a feeling that could change this week. Goldberg has played this tournament just once before (last year) and missed the cut but I feel that this is valuable experience rather than a negative as last year's winner Nick Flanagan won on the back of a MC the year before. The 27 year old seems to have the game to succeed here as he ranks 11th in Total Driving (58th Driving Distance and 16th Driving Accuracy), 10th in GIR and 4th in overall Ball Striking. He was a three time winner on the Canadian Tour back in 2010 so knows how to win and could just be a surprise package at a big price.
